Frequently Asked Questions
What are Permanent Cosmetics?
Permanent Cosmetics (cosmetic tattooing) is a
centuries-old technique in which micro amounts of pigmented color is
placed under the skin.
Who should have Permanent
Cosmetics?
Anyone who desires a soft, natural enhancement
to their appearance. It is beneficial to people who can’t wear other
cosmetics due to allergies and skin sensitivities, active
people who want to look their best for activities such as swimming,
hiking, biking, tennis, aerobics and who don't want to worry about
"sweating off" or reapplying cosmetics, and busy people who just
don’t have time to spend on their makeup. Permanent cosmetic makeup
can also benefit people who have difficulty applying their makeup
due to vision or motor impairments.
How safe is the procedure?
It is completely safe
when done by an experienced professional. Lisa Marie has
performed over 5,000 procedures and uses only top grade pigments and
equipment.
Every application is
done with a completely disposable setup, and is done in a sterile
and private environment. A one-time use of custom blended
pigment is used for each client and is disposed of immediately after
each use. Pigments are MRI approved.
How is the procedure done?
First, there is a consultation between client and technician.
All questions and concerns will be addressed.
Then, color and design is created using traditional make-up allowing
the client to experience what the end result will look like.
Last, the area is cleansed and a topical anesthetic is applied.
Using extremely fine, disposable needles, pigment is placed in the
superficial layers of the skin. There is little discomfort.
A healing application of antibiotic cream is applied, and you are
ready to go.
The entire process averages two hours, depending on the procedure.
How long is the healing process?
Many factors affect the healing process, such as: area worked on,
care of skin and overall health. Generally swelling, (minimal)
will subside in 3 - 5 days. Flaking and peeling, is to be
expected as a natural effect of the healing process.
A follow-up appointment is scheduled 4 weeks after procedure to
fine-tune design if needed.
Can I change the color or design
if I don't like it?
One of the benefits of micropigmentation (cosmetic tattooing) versus
more traditional tattooing is that cosmetic tattooing is in the
superficial layers of the skin. The color, shape and design
are very customizable!
Most clients find that after the first application, the liner
applications would be better a little darker and more defined, which
is a very quick and simple process. Brows and lips can also be
darkened or lightened, and shape more defined. (There is no
charge for this appointment). |
